In Shawshank Redemption the scene that was most meaningful to me was when they flashed back and showed how Andy escaped from the prison, it showed how much work he was doing behind the scene and more importantly how much he went through and what he was willing to do for freedom. This scene was the most meaningful to me because it was inspiring and really clever. It truly showed the sheer will power of Andy Dufresne.

The most meaningful scene in the movie for me was Red’s final interview to be released. For the first two interviews we see Red in, he puts on a fake performance to try and deceive the officials as an easy way to get out of Shawshank. Both attempts end up failing until his final one. Throughout the movie, Andy slowly changes Red’s view on everything within the prison. Red was just the guy people talked to for items to be smuggled in, but after Andy’s rise in the prison’s politics with both the prisoners and guards, Red finally sees the corruption with everything and realizes that there is no good in anything related to the prison. His final words to the interviewers show his truthful change and how he has rehabilitated for the better. He goes in expecting to be shutdown but doesn’t realize that what he says to them is what they truly want to here.

Andy's Escape

Post  PatrickMitchell on Sun Dec 09, 2018 10:10 pm

Andy’s escape from Shawshank prison is one of the greatest, most meaningful movie scenes in all of film history. It’s so striking and bold, that almost seven years after first viewing it, I still remember every shot and line of Andy’s horrifying, visceral journey. In Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption, Andy’s escape from Shawshank is the most meaningful scene in the movie as it inspires us to overcome any problems we have in life. Throughout the film we have seen all the trials and tribulations, Andy has been put through. We’ve seen him face everything from sexual violence, to a brutal prison captain and even up to a month in solitary confinement. Most men would have given up and become a shell of themselves, but not Andy. Andy inspires us by having the sheer determination to create a tunnel over the course of nineteen years and crawl through five football fields of human waste. Andy goes through a horrifying, visceral journey and emerges reborn in the rain. We, the audience watch this movie and leave inspired and confident that we can solve any problems life throws at us. The Shawshank Redemption is seen as one of the greatest movies of all time because of meaningful scenes such as Andy’s escape that inspire us to be greater than ourselves.
