Magneto & Prof X

Not much is known about the history of many of the characters in the film. Based on what we heard and saw while watching X-Men, piece together some details pertaining to the X-Mens' past. Try not to use info from other X-Men films, or what you may already know from reading the comic book - use Brian Singer's first X-Men film ONLY.

Based on what is showed from Magneto's past, we can see he was growing up during the holocaust and realized his powers through a stressful situation (like many of the other mutants). Wolverine seems to be a sort of lab experiment who has have metal injected into him and given immortality. The only thing we can see from this is when Jean Grey reads wolverine's mind. Jean Grey on the other hand is apparently a very powerful psychic according to Professor X. She has not fully grasped her abilities yet and is slowly working to get better at controlling herself. Professor X and Magneto seem to have an interesting past as well because they seem to know each other and consider each other "old friends". This makes us wounder if they were once on the same team at one point, and if their different views were what drove them apart to later become enemies.

Professor X and Magneto already now each other at the beginning of the film and Professor X refers to him as "old friend". This implies that they were perhaps on the same team but they probably split up because of their different views on the human race. We are shown glimpses of Wolverines past through Gene Grey's mind reading power which shows that Wolverine was subject to some sort of experiment where they covered his bones in metal. Professor X said that Gene is a very powerful mutant but other than that, we don't really get a backstory from her. We see a part of Magneto's past when he got his powers, he was a victim of the holocaust and had his family taken away from him. We also see the moment when Rouge gets her powers and how she ran away from home and met up with Logan and they both became part of the X-men.

Based on what we see Magneto and Professor X have known eachother for a long time as Magneto calls him "Old Friend" and because they play chess together. This means, that at one point, they were close friends and possibly partners of sorts. Logan is found in Canada but, after being brought to X-Mansion, we find out that a near indestructible metal has been fused to his bones and that his memory was wiped. This means he has a very complex past that we vaguely see as he has small flashbacks of the operation.

Based on what is said we know that Magneto and Professor x were friends but difference of opinion put them on opposite ends of the mutant delema. We also know that the x-men team grew up together under the professors care. The other past we know about is that Logan was genetically modified by someone and his little memory of anything before that. We also know Logan was in the army at one point.

Based on the opening scene of Brian Singer's first X-Men film, we know that Magneto is a holocaust survivor from World War II, and that he got out because of his mutant powers developing. As for Professor X, not much is truly known about him in this film besides the fact that he is extremely intelligent, and runs his own school for "talented youngsters" which are really just mutants in hiding, learning to act and cope within human society. This is useful for characters such as Rogue, who need coping mechanisms due to what has happened in the past due to her mutant powers. To finish, not much is truly known about both Professor X, as well as Magneto, but there are simple backstories established in order to begin to feel for the characters within the film and truly grasp their feelings and take on things.

In the movie, it seemed like Magneto and Professor X have an interesting past together because they consider each other “old friends” who occasionally play chess together. It makes the audience wonder what their past was and how they became enemies in the first place. The audience can also see that Magneto grew up during the holocaust and faced many struggles along with many of the other mutants. Professor X also comments on how Jean Grey apparently is a very powerful psychic.

Based on Brian Singers X-men a lot can be inferred from the way in which professor x and magneto speak to each other. They refer to each other as “old friends” which shows that they have a history together and that they were once good friends. Not much is known about professor X’s past however Magneto is shown to have grown up during the holocaust where the Germans captured his mother and him. This gives come context as to why Magneto thinks the way that he does.

Professor x raised and took care of the X-Men team and taught them how to develope their abilities. We also know that logan was modified by people and we also find out that he was once in the army.

Based on what we see from the movie, Magneto grew up in a time of war and discovered his powers at a very young age when his parents were taken away. Magneto and Professor X seem to have a past that we don’t know about, shown when they call each other “old friend” when they see each other. Wolverine is showed to be some type of experiment. He had metal injected into his body and given immortality. Jean Grey is also a mind reader just like Professor X but not nearly as powerful.
